Top Cow’s ‘Crosshair’ Picked Up By Summit Entertainment
3.11.2011 Reported by Debbie Trujillo According to
ICv2, Top Cow’s Crosshair comic, one of the titles in the publisher’s upcoming Pilot Season that was optioned by Mandeville Films at last year’s Comic-Con (see “Mandeville to Adapt Crosshair”) has been picked up by Summit Entertainment, the powerhouse mini-studio behind the Twilight movies and Red.
Summit recently received $750 million in financing, which will allow the studio to produce a number of new films, and Crosshair is one of the first projects that Summit has announced. According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman, the white hot producing team behind the Oscar-winning boxing movie The Fighter, are producing Crosshair with Morgan Foehl writing the screenplay.

Sienna Miller 'Compromised Her Values' For Playing The 'Baroness' In G.I. Joe: ROC
3.4.2011 Reported by Andrea Randall It doesn't look as if actress Sienna Miller will be reappearing in the G.I. Joe sequel to reprise her role as 'The Baroness' as she insisted she "compromised" her values by accepting the role.
In an interview with Britain's Time Out magazine she revealed that she "didn't feel good" after taking on the shoot.
"It was what it was, but I compromised my own values to a certain degree and I didn't feel good about that." "I'm not very good at fighting. And I'm not very good at guns. And I'm not particularly aggressive. I had to wear sunglasses because every time I shot my gun I would blink. I was completely out of place, like this little midget running round in black leather winning fights, which was just absurd. They did a wondrous job with my wardrobe to make me look threatening.
She does say that doing the film has helped her career and was a great pay check she feels more at focused on the theatre than taking on new film roles, adding: "There are times when you come off stage and it's so intense that you're screaming and sobbing but you feel amazing. I'm hooked. Doing a film is just not so appealing."

FILM ANNOUNCEMENT: Sticky Announces Indie Go Go Campaign and Planned May Release
2.25.2011 Reported by Michael Palembas Sticky is everything your mother was
too embarrassed to tell you about self-pleasuring in one stimulating
documentary. In a time when confusion about sexuality remains at the root of so
many societal problems – rape, sexual abuse, and the threat of sexually
transmitted diseases - this daring documentary exposes the touchy relationship
many people have with pleasuring themselves.
Featuring interviews with former Surgeon General Dr. Jocelyn Elders,
actress/comedian Janeane Garafalo, religious leaders and psychologists, Sticky
tackles contemporary issues like why the media portrays self-stimulation so
negatively, how the world’s major religions disagree about the moral effects of
it, and why the sale of sex toys is illegal in Alabama. As well, the film
explores the age-old questions; "Will it make me go blind?"; "Is it “normal”?";
and, "Why are we so afraid to be caught in the act?"
So
far Sticky has been entirely funded by private sources outside the Hollywood
studio system and the filmmakers are determined to retain that independence. The
film has already caused controversy and elicited interest from news
organizations and other filmmakers including; Morgan Spurlock, the documentary
filmmaker behind Super Size Me and The Greatest Movie Ever Sold. With 75% of the
project "in the can" and a goal of completion by the end of May 2011, the Sticky
team is launching an Indie Go Go campaign on March 1, to raise the remaining
funds necessary to support the release.

Free Art Lessons from Adam Hughes
2.3.2011 Reported by Alan Shih
Adam Hughes is most commonly known for his stylized renderings of women;
super heroines, damsels in distress, figures in fantasy. About the time Adam
began making waves in art circles and his artwork really began to be noticed,
the term "Good Girl Art" had been coined, and it best describes exactly what
Adam does. He is considered by many to be one of a new generation of Good Girl
artists inspired by Petty, Vargas and Elvgren. When describing his own work,
Adam has used the term "naturalistic" as opposed to the term "realistic"; which
describes what he does perfectly.

Batman 3 Casts New Villain 10.15.2010 According to
Fandango.com, the third installment of Batman will feature actor
Tom Hardy (Inception,
Bronson) to play "a lead role" in the new Batman movie, presumably as one of the
main villains since, other than a replacement for Harvey Dent, there doesn't
seem to be anyone else for him to play. Because Hardy is so versatile, the list
of villains he could potentially play is pretty long – from The Riddler to
Killer Croc, there are a number of large-and-in-charge bad boys this actor could
take on.
