By Alan Y. ShihSan Diego Comic-Con, San Diego, CA
RC: Frank, how’re you doing?
Cho: Doing good. How are you?
RC: Very good, thank you. How are you enjoying the show?
Cho: [Smiles.] It’s been great. It’s been just non-stop. Constant… it’s just been constant.
RC: Where is your studio based?
Cho: Maryland.
RC: So, you’re coming all the way from Maryland. How long have you been there?
Cho: Pretty much been there most of my life.
RC: How do you like it out there in the West Coast, California?
Cho: It’s nice. The weather is great, and the people are more… freaky. [Chuckles.] They’re nice. It’s awesome out here in the West Coast.
RC: Any chance of getting you to move out here to San Diego or the Bay Area?
Cho: [Ponders.] I would, except for the earthquakes.
RC: … Really?!
Cho: Yeah. I’m scared of earthquakes.
RC: Well,... I’m sure you have wonderful crabcakes over in Maryland.
Cho: Oh yeah, awesome! The best.
RC: Favorite restaurant?
Cho: Probably any sushi restaurant. It’s called SUSHI KING down in Columbia, Maryland.
RC: Fantastic, we’ll keep an eye out for it. Tell us about your most recent projects.
Cho: I’m doing the MIGHTY AVENGERS right now, working on LIBERTY MEADOWS, a special project, and working on ZOMBIE KING script right now, and a bunch of oil paintings… stuff like that, and JUNGLE GIRL for Dynamite Entertainment.
RC: Favorite Marvel character to draw…
Cho: Right now, Ms. Marvel.
RC: Any particular reason?
Cho: She’s hot!
RC: Very nice, very nice. Favorite male character to draw…
Cho: Wolverine.
RC: Any plans for the rest of the weekend?
Cho: Meetings and more meetings, and hanging out with fans.
RC: Going to check out any of the local scenes?
Cho: I wish, but I just don’t have the time. Maybe next time.
RC: Thank you very much, Frank Cho.
Cho: Thank you!
